Quick Story of Me

Hello there, my name is Jarrod Pearl and I am originally from Tacoma, Washington, but grew up all over the country due to my parents serving in the U.S. Army.  We were fortunate enough to get stationed in Alaska from 2005 to 2009, and in that short amount of time, Alaska won me over and I decided to call Alaska my real home.  As life went on, I followed my parent's footsteps and enlisted in the Army in 2015 and I hit the jackpot when I was sent back to Alaska as my first duty station.  I am still in the Army and currently stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, working as an Explosives Ordnance Disposal Technician (EOD for short.)  For those unfamiliar with that term, it's basically military Bomb Squad.  If you have ever seen the movie "The Hurt Locker" that's pretty much what I do for a living, minus the extra Hollywood dramatics they added.

Growing up I didn't really have much of a preference when it came to music genres, I just listened to whatever was on.  I did play the clarinet in middle school but haven't played since.  It wasn't until I started working out that my musical preference developed.  I needed motivation to work on my physical fitness and that motivation came in the form of heavy metal.  It all started with the song "Blood" by In This Moment, and has progressed further to bands such as; Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Otep, and many more.  In 2016, I was able to attend a Volbeat concert at the Alaska State Fair.  It was quite an experience as it was my first concert ever.  The band itself was great, but I was not a fan of the crowd, too many people for me.  As time went on, my musical taste evolved more as I found myself listening Norse Folk music and Khoomei (Mongolian Throat singing.)

Here are some links for some of my favorite songs, hope you enjoy them.

Valhalla Calling by Miracle of Sound, Peyton Parrish, & Eric Holloway

Lift Me Up by Five Finger Death Punch
